YEREVAN. – Armenia’s state commission for the protection of economic competition is curbing inflation, but the most effective fight against inflation must be held by consumers and by means of avoiding panic buying, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a special meeting of the National Assembly.

“Let’s avoid panic buying, because there is no danger in this regard. For example, the level of purchases in trade center increased by 20% as compared with March 8, which was a holiday. Now it has increased by 20%, and still the shelves are not empty,” PM said.

He added that in terms of inflation there is an objective component, for example, the rise in price of medical masks. Pashinyan said the price of masks has jumped all over the glove.

“We have to take measures to prevent an illogical increase in prices,” he added.
