YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan admitted that incidents at the border continue, and, unfortunately, there are casualties on both sides.
He added that his government’s task is to prevent escalation, and the best option is to have an effective mechanism for investigating border incidents so that the parties could not blame each other.
“As for our Armed Forces, it has been repeatedly states, and there are international reports indicating that the purchase of weapons, in particular in 2019, has tripled. Modern and ultramodern weapons were purchased,” he said during a special session in the parliament.
He added that introduction of a new food system, raising salaries lead to high combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Artsakh, and this will ensure the inviolability of borders.
