Famous Armenian musician Arto Tuncboyacian released a joint album with the Turkish Kardes Turkuler group.

The first track of “Child is always right” album starts with the poem of great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, Turkish Haber 7 website reports. The songs feature true and made-up stories told by children.

Speaking about the album Tuncboyacian told about his childhood spent in Turkey. “I went to school when I was six. We were urged to study the history of Turkey but learn not a single word about Armenia. It was emphasized that Armenians are enemies,” he said.

Armenian musician also recalled a story he heard being a child. “Once, an Armenian child climbed the mount to bring water for his parents. Later his dead body was found there. I have heard this story from my parents. There always was a silent fear in the air. Even when we moved to U.S. my mother used to close windows when we were speaking about Turkey,” he said.

Arto Tuncboyacian and Kardes Turkuler group started cooperating after participation in an event dedicated to journalist Hrant Dink.
