A Tbilisi city court found former Georgian defense minister Irakli Okruashvili guilty of participating in riots in protests in Tbilisi on June 20-21, 2019 and sentenced him to five years in prison, NewsGeorgia reported.

Okruashvili was detained on July 25, 2019. By decision of the court, he was placed in pre-trial detention for the duration of the investigation and court proceedings.
