Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan of the Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia today addressed an application to the Supreme Judicial Council stating that people have started spreading several offensive and threatening remarks against him and his family members on news websites and social networks (including messages on his personal page) after the decision he rendered on June 18, 2020.
Today at 2 p.m. the Supreme Judicial Council called Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan to consider the application.
After listening to the judge and considering the application, the Council decided to contact the Police of Armenia for the latter to take appropriate measures.
On June 18, the Criminal Court of Appeal, under the chairmanship of Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan, upheld the appeals filed by attorneys Aram Vardevanyan and Hovhannes Khudoyan regarding the pre-trial measure for second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, and partially upheld the appeal of Ruben Sahakyan. The Criminal Court of Appeal partially overturned the decision of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction based on which Robert Kocharyan will be released on bail for AMD 2,000,000,000 after transferring the money to the court’s account for deposits.
