In 2018, the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia organized and held the snap elections of the National Assembly and the snap elections of the Council of Elders of Yerevan. This is what Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan said during a discussion on the report on the activities of the Central Electoral Commission in parliament today.
According to him, in addition, the Commission held elections of local self-government bodies in 170 communities of Armenia in 2018 and 2019.
During the elections in Yerevan, there were 475 polling stations with 4,722 members of local electoral commissions. There were eight political parties and four alliances of political parties. The Commission recorded 241 violations that were record-registered in the relevant register. Moreover, Mukuchyan stated that no violation was recorded at 342 polling stations in Yerevan.
