The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that the government will impose sanctions on Lockheed Martin for forming a part of the recent deal to sell American weapons to Taiwan, Reuters reports.

Lockheed Martin is the main contractor for the plan to modernize Taiwan’s $620 million-dollar Patriot air defense system.

Beijing is sharply against any sale of US weapons to Taiwan and refers to it as intervention in China’s domestic affairs.
