The Presidents of Russia and Iran - Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani - held a phone talk and discussed COVID-19, Syria, and energy.

According to the Kremlin press service, it was agreed to continue cooperation in the fight against the pandemic, including through the ministries of health.

The parties discussed in detail various aspects of the implementation of the Iranian deal. Vladimir Putin noted that the Iranian deal remains an important agreement contributing to global stability and security.

Hassan Rouhani reaffirmed Iran's commitment to the deal and readiness for equal and constructive interaction both with all its participants and within the deal, and also thanked Vladimir Putin for his consistent Russian position in favor of preserving and implementing the nuclear accord.

When exchanging views on Syria, the leaders noted the timeliness of decisions on the results of the trilateral video conference of the heads of state - guarantors of the Astana process organized on July 1, 202, at the initiative of the Iranian side.

The Iranian President congratulated Vladimir Putin on the successful all-Russian vote on constitutional amendments.
