Police shut down an underground plant that produced fake alcohol, reports RIA Novosti.

According to the agency, low-quality fake alcohol beverages were sold as expensive famous brands of alcohol.    

"The underground production was initiated by a native of Armenia. For his production of fake vodka he used ethanol, which in illegal circulation. Under poor sanitary conditions 17 people from Uzbekistan were mixing alcohol with tap water producing fake wine, Armenian and French cognac and brandy, and offering them as elite alcoholic drinks," the report says.
