The number of COVID-19 deaths in Iran has increased by 235 per day and exceeded 16.1 thousand, the health ministry's spokesperson Sima Sadat Lari reported.

According to her, the number of new COVID-19 cases amounted to 2,667, the total number of those infected reached 296,273, TASS reported referring to the Iranian ISNA.

The representative of the department added that over the past 24 hours, 235 patients have died in Iran, and the total number of deaths has reached 16,147.
