YEREVAN. – Journalist and environmental activist Tehmine Yenokyan is holding a picket in front of the Ministry of Environment of Armenia, demanding that the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report on the Amulsar gold mine project be repealed.

According to her, this initiative of hers is more of an awareness action than a protest. "Later I will also go to Jermuk [town]. I tell everyone, 'Go to Jermuk and stand with those people because the situation there is getting tenser day by day," she added.

Yenokyan noted that no one from the environment ministry came and responded to her.
