Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a phone talk with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The two exchanged views on the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold a meeting of the leaders of the five UN Security Council, Germany, and Iran, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russia remains fully committed to the Iranian nuclear deal to resolve the Iranian nuclear program. Putin proposed in the very near future to hold an online meeting of the heads of state of the permanent members of the UN Security Council with the participation of the leaders of Germany and Iran in order to avoid the aggravation of the situation, RIA Novosti reported.
