Lebanese investigators have issued an arrest warrant for the head of the customs service of the republic, Badri Daher, amid the Beirut blast, TASS reported referring to the Al Arabiya TV channel.
According to it, the warrant was issued after the official gave his testimony in the case. The investigators questioned the head of the customs for four hours.
A powerful blast knocked Beirut on August 4. The blast wave destroyed and damaged thousands of houses, over 300 thousand people were left homeless. The death toll has reached 178 and about six thousand were injured, dozens are reported missing. Governor of Beirut Marwan Abboud said earlier that the reconstruction of the city will require from $ 12 to $ 15 billion.
