The judge has issued an arrest warrant for the general director of the port of Beirut, Hassan Koraytem, as part of an investigation into the blast, RIA Novosti reported referring to the Lebanese TV channel LBC.

According to the TV channel, the forensic investigator in the case, Judge Fadi Sawan, issued an arrest warrant for Koraytem after an interrogation that lasted about four hours.

Sawan had earlier issued an arrest warrant for Lebanese Customs Director-General Badri Daher. The interrogation of his predecessor was reportedly postponed. Earlier, State Prosecutor Ghassan Oueidat Ghassan Uweidat, said that after the explosion in Beirut, criminal cases were opened against 25 people.
