Lithuania has prepared a list of sanctions against 32 Belarusian officials, including President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevicius said today, Sputnik-Belarus reports, citing LRT.
The Lithuanian foreign minister clarified that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already submitted the list to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for approval.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched the process and applied sanctions against those who have used violence and extremely great force, as well as against the leaders of institutions responsible for the violence and those who have falsified the elections,” Linkevicius said.
As reported earlier, the EU has decided not to acknowledge the results of the presidential elections in Belarus, and the leaders of several European countries have called on imposing sanctions against the Belarusian authorities.
