A pilot fighting a fire in central California has died after his helicopter crashed Wednesday morning, Fox News reported.
The Bell UH-1 helicopter was on a mission to extinguish a fire of about 566 hectares when it crashed about 14 km south of the town of Coalinga.
The incident took place 10 am local time.
According to the local fire department, the pilot was alone and did not survive.
