Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz resigned on Thursday, TASS reported, citing the press service of the Polish Foreign Ministry.

The minister said earlier that after the presidential elections there would be a good time to change the head of Polish diplomacy, and expressed his confidence that his successor would pursue the same line and contribute to further strengthening Poland's position in the international arena, the statement said.

Czaputowicz has served as Polish Foreign Minister since January 2018.
