France, intervening in the conflict between Turkey and Greece, displays imperialism that does not correspond to the current international situation, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said after French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about what was happening.

The diplomat turned to the Europeans, who do not see the true state of affairs: he noted that the conflicts in the Eastern Mediterranean should be resolved by the efforts of the coastal countries alone, TASS reported.

The era of defining their imperialist mindset by drawing lines on maps is over, he said.

This remark was a response to the statement of Macron: on August 28 he spoke about the policy of red lines, which Paris adheres to, participating in the Greek-Turkish conflict.
