The United States will not join the international coalition to find and distribute the Covid-19 vaccine as it is linked to the World Health Organization, Forbes reported.

The WHO Covax initiative aims to procure 2 billion doses of potential COVID-19 vaccines from multiple vaccine manufacturers by the end of 2021 and distribute them worldwide.

WHO announced last week that Covax plans to work with vaccine manufacturers to give countries equal access to safe and effective vaccines once they are licensed and approved. 172 countries are participating in the discussions for potential participation.

The European Commission has confirmed it will contribute 400 million euros to the initiative, and WHO said Germany has also joined the pact.

The United States will continue to engage our international partners in the fight against this virus, but we will not be held back by multilateral organizations influenced by the corrupt World Health Organization and China, White House spokesman Judd Deere said.

The World Health Organization warned against vaccine nationalism, with the head of the WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that for the world to recover faster, it must recover together, because this is a globalized world: economies are interconnected.
