I don’t think a color revolution took place in Armenia in 2018. This is what First Vice-Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zabarov declared during the Moscow-Minsk-Yerevan-Bishkek-Tbilisi teleconference under the title “Velvet Revolutions in the Post-Soviet Territory: Origin and Consequences”. According to him, there was no forceful overthrow of government in Armenia.
“The people of Armenia elected the leader whom they wanted to elect. I had talked to representatives of the Armenian Diaspora since I have many Armenian friends and acquaintances. The situation that had escalated until 2018 and the extremely high level of corruption made people came out on the streets since they didn’t want to live in those conditions anymore. So, I can’t say there was a color revolution in Armenia,” Zabarov said.
