To be fully honest, we need to state the fact that there aren’t many professionals in Armenia. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, Chair of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan told reporters in parliament today.

“I wouldn’t want this to be viewed as degradation of other potential candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court. Yes, there aren’t many qualified professionals who wish to be a part of the public service system, and this is due to the salaries and social guarantees. When all corruption risks are eliminated, it is necessary to envisage social guarantees that will make a person want to become a public servant. This is why people talk a lot about bonuses and surcharges, but we need to be honest and state that we are dealing with a situation where people need to receive good salaries in order to provide quality services. The government and the National Assembly are working actively to solve this problem,” he said.
