The results of tests that Germany says prove Russian dissident Alexei Navalny was the victim of a nerve agent attack have been handed over to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), government officials said on Wednesday, dpa reported.

The German government sees no reason to hand the evidence directly to Russia, deputy spokeswoman Martina Fietz told reporters. "We continue to appeal to the Russian side to deliver information," she added.

Russia is also a member in the OPCW.
