Australia’s Institute for Economics and Peace issued an annual Global Peace Index (GPI), the world’s leading measure of national peacefulness, which involves 153 countries.
Armenia is ranked 109, while neighboring Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are 122, 134 and 127 respectively. Iran is ranked 119.
Armenia is 22 in the list of countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Azerbaijan – 26, while Georgia – 28.
According to the ranking, the most peaceful country is Iceland.
