Former Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Salvini has expressed his support to Armenia on the backdrop of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“We must not forget the destruction and suffering experienced by the people close to us and about which there is very little talk. Armenians were the first to experience the horror of genocide, and now they are being persecuted in Nagorno-Karabakh. If the European Union is significant, protect our brothers and the fore post of European civilization in the Middle East and the Caucasus,” he wrote on Facebook.
