The appearance on Armenia-Turkey initialed Protocols was a wakener for Diaspora representatives, Ararat newspaper (published in Lebanon) Chief Editor and Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) member Aharon Shikherdimian stated after the meeting with RA President Serzh Sargsyan in Beirut, October 6, 2009.

“It is natural, as Turk will always be the genocide initiator, at that no step was taken to date to recognize own crime. On the contrary, they even jeopardize Armenia’s national security,” he added.

If RA President guarantees that Armenia does not make unilateral concessions, Armenia-Turkey relations should not defeat Nagorno-Karabakh’s right for self determination or discredit Armenian Genocide as well as Armenians’ right over their lands, he added. Moreover, we perceive Serzh Sargsyan’s words as reliable guarantee and wish for him to proceed with his work, Shikherdimian concluded.
