Head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia said he sees no progress regarding rule of democracy and human rights protection in Azerbaijan, SalamNews reports.

Roland Kobia said that authorities should release imprisoned journalists and create conditions for free election, freedom of press and freedom of assembly.

“The EU has appealed to the Azerbaijani government on the matter. If Azerbaijan does not fulfill its obligations, the EU can cut aid to the country,” he told the journalists.

It refers not only to Azerbaijan but all member states, he added.
