The Public Services Regulatory Commission has developed a new methodology for calculation of the natural gas tariff that will help avoid increase of the natural gas price. This is what Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan said during today’s discussion on the draft of the 2021 State Budget held as part of the joint session of the Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia.

Baghramyan particularly stated that the methodology offers to average the incomes and expenses of Gazprom Armenia over the next ten years so that the tariff doesn’t fluctuate or fluctuates minimally.

“Over the years, the company has earmarked investments worth AMD 200-230,000,000,000 through which it will improve the orderliness and effectiveness of its distribution network. The sooner it starts do to that, the sooner it will start to receive additional profits,” Baghramyan explained.

Currently, the existing technical regulations require more employees for the network than is actually required, according to Gazprom Armenia.
