Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Masis Mayilyan has issued the following statement on the terrorist attacks in France and Austria:
“We resolutely condemn the recent terrorist acts, particularly in France and Austria that took the lives of innocent people. I express condolences to the families of the victims of those monstrous acts of violence and express solidarity with the peoples of France and Austria. Terrorist methods pose a threat to the international community and can’t be justified in any way.
The Republic of Artsakh, which clashed with the Azerbaijani state terrorism a long time ago, has been fighting against international terrorism on the frontline for over a month now, and Turkey and Azerbaijan are using this as a tool for their geopolitical pretensions and military objectives. Today, the Republic of Artsakh is protecting not only its right to freedom and a dignified life, but also the common values of the civilized world.
It will be impossible to score an ultimate victory over this evil, if the victory isn’t integral for everyone. This is exactly why on October 6, 2020, President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Haroutyunyan called on the civilized world to show active participation in the fight against terrorism and create an active and effective international anti-terrorism alliance.
I am certain that it is necessary to take action to prevent all forms of terrorism. In this direction, international cooperation must become one of the key elements of the system of measures for maintenance of international peace and security.”
