Expenditures for capital construction will ensure economic growth in 2021. This is what Minister of Economy of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan said during today’s joint session of the Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment of the National Assembly.
According to him, taking into consideration the negative developments in 2020, the key objective of the government is to achieve results that will provide the opportunity to lay the foundation for the country’s economic recovery which, in its turn, will allow to solve many problems facing the country.
“In this context, the expenditures part of the state budget has remained unchanged. There is an opinion on the need to cut expenditures for capital construction and gear saved resources towards other sectors. However, cutting expenditures can’t be viewed as a factor that will contribute to the growth of the GDP,” the minister stated.
