In 2021, 3.2 percent of the nominal GDP, or almost 210 billion drams, will be used for capital expenditures in Armenia. The Minister of Finance, Atom Janjughazyan, stated about this during the debates on the 2021 draft budget at Friday’s joint meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment.

"In this regard, it is important to have a correct assessment of the capabilities of both the customers as well the contractors and service providers. Therefore, the proposed version is intermediate," the minister explained.

With regard to current expenditures, a smooth budgeting model has been chosen in this regard, and which does not envision additional funding, but will enable all commitments to be met.

The Minister noted also that the program budgeting model has already become an established fact, the main goal of which is to make a transition from mechanical funding to the evaluation of funding results and get the maximum result from each invested amount of money.
