To consider any proposal made by Turkey means to come to grips with the idea that Turkey can be a part of the negotiation process. This is what deputy of the Bright Armenia opposition faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Ani Samsonyan told reporters today, touching upon the fact that CNN, citing its diplomatic sources, had reported that Putin and Erdogan have met and that the Turkish party is talking about a new format for negotiations according to which another format may be created for negotiations beyond the OSCE.

“Turkey’s sole purpose of making any proposal regarding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is to sit at the negotiating table. However, Armenia has stated several times that Turkey is provoking the war and can’t support peace or introduce a peace agenda. I don’t know about the discussions between Russia and Turkey. Perhaps the Security Council will convene a session and the foreign minister will provide some information,” Samsonyan said.
