Construction of the third electricity transmission line between Armenia and Iran with the capacity of 800-900 megawatt will be launched in the next two weeks, said Iran’s Energy Minister Majid Namjoo.

The project is estimated at $110 million, Namjoo said during the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Armen Movsisyan, Tehran Times reports.

Armenian delegation headed by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan left for Tehran on Sunday to participate in the tenth meeting of a joint Armenian-Iranian inter-governmental commission.

The meeting will consider the results of cooperation in the spheres of energy, transport and communications, agriculture, urban development, culture, sport and other fields, the press service of Energy and Natural Resources Ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Yerevan hosted the previous meeting on January 27, 2010.
