Turkey must acknowledge the terms of the truce signed by the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and if it doesn’t, the European Union may impose additional sanctions against that country. This is what Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian declared in his speech at the session of the National Assembly of France, TASS reported.

“With respect to the agreement which was concluded after the events that took place last night and which we hadn’t managed to comment on yesterday, we believe it is important for Turkey to absolutely and strictly observe the agreed ceasefire; otherwise, there may be more sanctions against Turkey,” Le Drian said when asked what impact Turkey has on the events in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The minister clarified that EU member states will hold another summit in December and that, as a matter of fact, Turkey’s aggression will also be discussed.

“I have talked about Turkey’s belligerent and unacceptable behavior several times. President Erdogan is calling for hatred against France and is offending the values on which our nation is hinged. I took note of the fact that the Turkish authorities recently condemned the terrorist attacks in Nice and Vienna, but we are still waiting for clarifications. This first and foremost concerns the statements targeted against France.”
