I have no right to comment on the reaction of Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s publics to the agreement to ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RT television.

"That would be just stupid of me. I can only respect the political wisdom of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who, thanks to the efforts by the President of the Russian Federation, have signed a joint statement and ceased hostilities," Peskov added.

To note, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday night signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
