President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of France Emmanuel Macron discussed the development of the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, the Kremlin’s press service reported.

“The phone talks of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of France Emmanuel Macron were held. Taking into consideration the co-chairmanship of Russia and France in the OSCE Minsk Group, the development of the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh was thoroughly discussed.

Vladimir Putin informed about the active mediation efforts of the Russian party which have allowed to stop the bloodshed and avoid new deaths, as well as deploy the Russian peacekeeping contingent along the length of the line of contact and the Lachin corridor. It was stated that the statement signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia on November 9 is in effect, the situation in the region is becoming stable in general,” the press release reads.
