This process continues, that’s why the numbers are variable; at least there are data in all the directions you mentioned, but they cannot be considered final; and after the process, of course, all the numbers will be published. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this Monday at the special session of the National Assembly of Armenia—and responding to majority My Step faction MP Karen Hambardzumyan’s question as to when will we have the final number of the fallen, missing, POWs, and wounded servicemen in the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war, and at what stage those activities were.
"We are in a somewhat unequal situation here because, as I understand it, under Azerbaijani law, the number is not published at all; this is a very important nuance that we must take into account as one of the most speculated questions now is whether there was a fight for Shushi or not. The presence of the bodies of the casualties—moreover, from both sides—directly gives the answer to that question," Pashinyan added.
