Nikol Pashinyan’s actions are aimed at maintaining power, and the continuity of the criminal cases might be within this logic. This is what leader of Homeland Party Artur Vanetsyan, who has already returned from the National Security Service, told reporters during the rally held by the opposition with the demand for Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation.

“Unfortunately, there is no power in Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan doesn’t rely on the law-enforcement authorities anymore and is already forming gangs in an attempt to restrain his political opponents. I have always fought against criminals and know the ways to fight against them, and I call on the police, the National Security Service and all law-enforcement officers to take relevant measures to disallow such developments. If the law-enforcement authorities can’t take such actions, or Pashinyan doesn’t allow them, the law-enforcement authorities need to take immediate measures, launch a criminal case against Pashinyan and hold him liable,” he said.

When told that Pashinyan today said he has the right to engage the armed forces to ensure public order during martial law, Vanetsyan dared him to try and added that the armed forces will join the opposition and go against Pashinyan.
