Dmitry Peskov, Spokesman for the Russian President, assured that if the United States and France, as the other co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, demand explanations from Russia on Turkey and Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], they will receive them, RIA Novosti reported.

"There is no doubt that if our partners in the Minsk Group need an explanation, we will give that explanation. Moreover, now there are constant contacts between our diplomatic missions on the Karabakh affairs," Peskov said.

According to him, the Kremlin would not like to comment on the co-chairs' bilateral relations with Turkey. "We have our bilateral relations which are dear to us. As for the joint status of the Co-Chairs, of course, what is important for us is to maintain the peace that was recently established in Nagorno-Karabakh. The return of all displaced persons and refugees, and the monitoring of the maintenance of peace are also important," added the Russian presidential spokesman.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
