Russia records silence and sometimes attempts at distortion of information on the situation over the implementation of the trilateral statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. She also noted that the Western countries’ restrained response to the adoption of this trilateral statement is surprising. "We see at least a restrained response to this statement, which has led to the concrete implementation of the provisions mentioned in it. ‘Restraint’ is the most commonly used word for many of the statements we have heard so far from our Western partners. From what? Just one or 1.5 months ago, everyone wanted and waited for the ceasefire so much. The ceasefire has taken place; it has been fixed and is being maintained. We do not see the same full-fledged response that the West is capable of, and we know that when they respond on a broad front, it becomes known and heard everywhere," she said, according to TASS.

Zakharova noted that the adoption of the aforesaid statement did not cause "a commotion and a desire to welcome and comment on the statement, to encourage the parties to implement it, to mention Russia's role as a mediator." "Many statements by the foreign policy officials of Western countries do not mention Russia's role at all, as if it were about a bilateral statement. It is not even mentioned that the announcement is tripartite; surprisingly, this is also a fact. As if our country's positive and constructive role should not be presented in any way at all in international affairs," stressed the Russian MFA spokesperson.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
