YEREVAN. - Release of political prisoners shows that opposition’s policy aimed at staging velvet revolution is effective, said Levon Zurabyan, member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).

He noted that opposition activists Sargis Hatspanyan and Murad Bodjolyan remain in custody but asked not to consider delay in their release as a reason not to launch dialogue with the authorities.

Levon Zurabian said that the ANC accepted to start a dialogue with the authorities on holding snap presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to information of the Justice Ministry, Hatspanyan and Bodjolyan will be released on June 9 and 13 respectively, he added.
