Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday called a French parliament resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] a “complete disaster,’’ and an attack on the sovereignty rights of Azerbaijan, Ahval reported.

Turkey ally Azerbaijan did not attack anyone or their land, but liberated its own lands which were Armenia for nearly three decades despite UN and OSCE resolutions, Erdogan stated.

“The decision taken the previous day in the parliament of France, the co-chair of the [OSCE] Minsk Group, is a complete disaster beyond a scandal,” the Turkish president said.

The French National Assembly on Thursday supported a resolution adopted earlier by the French Senate, and which contains a call to the French authorities to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities—which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh.
