Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian, who is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund, addressed an official letter to the members of the Board of Trustees of the Fund, the President's Office reports.

At the request of the Government of Armenia and by the decision of the Board of Trustees of the Fund, most—AMD 52,703,113,395—of the funds raised by the Fund during the difficult days of the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war were donated to a separate government treasury account to fund infrastructure, social, and healthcare expenditures.

Taking into account the growing public interest in the issue, on November 26, President Sarkissian addressed a letter to Haykak Arshamyan, Executive Director of Hayastan All Armenian Fund, with a proposal to provide clarifications.

According to the President, the government should submit a clear, detailed, transparent, and maximally public report on the expenditures made from the funds transferred by the Fund.

At the same time, as per Sarkissian, an urgent international audit should be conducted and comprehensive information should be provided on the funds raised by Hayastan All Armenian Fund and their targeted management.

And in case of a negative conclusion of the international audit, or if the results of the audit are not satisfactory to the Fund trustees or donors, the AMD 52,703,113,395 donated to the government should be rearranged as a loan subject to full repayment to Hayastan All Armenian Fund, according to President Armen Sarkissian.
