US President-elect Joe Biden has nominated former US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Samantha Power to head the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Power, 50, served as Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations from 2013 to 2017.
According to Biden, she will be a strong voice to help the vulnerable, ushering in a new era of human progress and development, and advancing American interests around the world.
