The UAE Ambassador to Washington, Yousef Al Otaiba, believes the statement of the US President Joe Biden's administration to suspend arms sales to the Emirates and Saudi Arabia was expected.
The UAE will work closely with the Biden administration on a comprehensive approach to peace and stability in the Middle East, a statement issued by the UAE Embassy in the United States noted.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has confirmed that the State Department is considering the suspended arms sales after the new administration announced it would end arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The Department of State is conducting a broader study of the billions of dollars in deals made by the Donald Trump administration.
