The US stands ready to return to compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal if Iran does so, and then work with US allies and partners on a longer and stronger agreement covering other issues, NBC reported.

According to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Tehran has several months left before it can produce enough fissile material for nuclear weapons. Blinken added that it could be a matter of weeks if Iran continues to abandon restrictions on the nuclear deal.

Asked whether North Korea should be recognized as a nuclear power, Blinken said that Biden had asked his national security team to review US policy toward Pyongyang across the board to determine the most effective ways to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. 

He added that these tools include the possibility of further sanctions in consultation with US allies, as well as unspecified diplomatic incentives.

The Biden administration is also looking into US relations with Saudi Arabia to make sure they are in line with US interests and values, he said. He called the murder of Jamal Khashoggi back in 2018 an outrageous act against a journalist and a US resident.

But he refused to condemn Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who, according to the CIA, ordered Khashoggi's assassination.
