Turkish aircraft violated Greek airspace 128 times in January, To Vima reported, citing a statement from the Greek national defense general staff.

The violations were committed by 73 aircraft, including seven fighters. The planes did not submit the required flight plans.

Greek and Turkish officials resumed preliminary talks to help resolve territorial differences last week after more than four years. The next bilateral meeting will take place at the end of February or in March, ahead of the European Union summit.

In early January, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Greece of escalating tensions in the Aegean Sea and violating Turkish airspace.
