Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with senior security and military officials to discuss preparations for a possible attack on Iran, MEM reports citing Israeli media.

Israeli news channel Kan reported that Netanyahu met defense secretary Benny Gantz, Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, and defense and finance officials to discuss the possibility of transferring funds from emergency security bases to fund anticipated operational plans against Iran.

The meeting is preceded by today's cabinet meeting, which will be convened at the invitation of Netanyahu to discuss developments related to the Iranian issue.

Local media reported that they would discuss Iran's increase in uranium enrichment levels, America's warning that Iran may only have a few weeks to acquire materials for nuclear weapons, the possibility of an early return of the US administration to a nuclear agreement.

On Monday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that Iran may need weeks before possessing nuclear weapons material if it continues to violate the nuclear deal.

Last week, Israel's chief of staff Aviv Kochavi said he had ordered the army to prepare operational plans for a possible attack on Iran this year.
