Spokesman of the European External Action Service Peter Stano says EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Affairs Josep Borrell has condemned Russia’s decision on expelling European diplomats and has called on Russia to review the decision, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that three diplomats of the Swedish, Polish and German embassies in Russia had participated in unlawful demonstrations, are declared as persona non grata and must leave Russia in the near future.

On January 23, citizens of Russia held unlawful demonstrations in different cities of the country and continued to hold them on January 31 and February 2 in spite of the several warnings of the government, including the risk of getting infected with COVID-19.
