Today, under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan, the inter-agency commission for evaluation of not only the subventions envisaged under the State Budget of Armenia, but also the bids for subvention targeted at the development of economic and social infrastructures in Armenia’s communities. In his opening remarks, Avinyan stated that the formation of an environment for prosperity and the development of social and economic infrastructures in communities are among the government’s overriding priorities.

Presenting the comparative picture of the past three years, Avinyan informed that whereas 157 subvention programs were implemented through a pilot program with co-financing in the amount of AMD 1,700,000,000 from the State Budget in 2018, in 2019, the number of programs tripled, reaching 464, in the amount of AMD 9,590,000,000 from the State Budget. According to him, the quantity and volume of programs in 2020 grew essentially to 660, for 570 of which AMD 14,300,000,000 was allocate from the State Budget. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the mentioned programs covered almost all areas of development of community life, particularly the construction or repair of apartment buildings, kindergartens, parks and groves.

The commission also summed up the results of the programs that were completed last year and considered the programs that were launched in 2020, but remained incomplete due to the coronavirus pandemic and war. The commission also touched upon new and initial subvention bids for this year and the general policy on granting subventions.

At the end, the Deputy Prime Minister gave assignments to the government agencies.
