The German company removed over 50 containers of hazardous chemicals from Beirut.

According to German Ambassador to Lebanon Andreas Kindle, Combi Lift has processed 52 containers of hazardous chemicals that have accumulated over decades and posed a threat to the people of Beirut.

Hazardous material found in the port a few months ago is nearly 4,000 tons - far more than the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate stored in the port that caused the Beirut blast on August 4 last year, Reuters reported.

Chemical containers are set to be sent to Germany.
